Michelle Mourre
Winnipeg conductor and pianist Michelle Mourre has had a rich and varied career. She currently runs a healthy music studio offering private lessons in piano and theory, masterclasses, recitals and coaching. She enjoys performing in house concerts with her husband, Yuri Hooker and son Ari Hooker. She is an active musician in her church and her community encouraging the next generation to be passionate and energetic musicians and well rounded appreciators of the arts. Michelle was most recently the conductor of Winnipeg’s Gilbert and Sullivan Society. Prior to that she was Conductor in Residence of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Andrey Boreyko and served as Artistic Director of the Brandon Chamber Players from 2006-2010. Michelle obtained a Master's Degree in Orchestral and Operatic Conducting from Indiana University and holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Brandon University.
