Leanne Regehr Lee
Collaborative Piano
Leanne has loved playing piano for as long as she can remember. Graduating with distinction from the University of Manitoba, Leanne earned degrees in Music Education (piano and senior years choral), and has taught music in Winnipeg and Nottingham, England. She is a Manitoba Registered Music Teacher and a certified teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music for Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced levels of piano and theory.
Leanne performs regularly with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, as well as many other professional and amateur musicians. She is an Adjunct Professor of Music at the Canadian Mennonite University where she teaches piano, collaborative piano, and courses in pedagogy and private studio teaching techniques.
Recently appointed the Artistic Director of the Winnipeg Sonora Voices, Leanne brings her vibrant vision to this family of award-winning choirs for singers ages 5-28. She is the conductor of the Singers (SATB, ages 14-18), and is the pianist for the Chamber Ensemble (SA, ages 18-28).
As an in-demand teacher and adjudicator, Leanne enjoys a full teaching studio of motivated and creative students. She strives to create communities where students are supported and challenged to pursue high levels of musical excellence.
When she’s not teaching or playing piano, Leanne enjoys outdoor activities and exploring new places with her husband Garth, a luthier, and their young adult twins.
