JEnnifer Thiessen
Rosamundiade Director, Viola
Violist and viola d’amore player Jennifer Thiessen enjoys interpreting repertoire of all eras for her instruments, with particular experience in historical baroque performance and contemporary creative music. She lived in Montreal for two decades, performing solo and chamber music and collaborating with such ensembles as Ensemble Caprice, collectif9, Quatuor Bozzini, and La La La Human Steps. Since moving back to Manitoba in 2021, she plays with the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, Winnipeg Baroque Festival, GroundSwell, as an extra with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, and in Rosamunde’s Festival concerts.
Jennifer makes new music for voice, viola, and electronics for her projects Daily Alice, Park Sounds, and JUNO-nominated Toninato & Thiessen. She enjoys creative writing, contributes articles to Musicworks Magazine, and is the Artistic Director of Virtuosi Concerts. She will be director of the Rosamundiade program at Rosamunde's Academy this upcoming August.
