Behind the scenes, there is always a full to-do list: writing and submitting grants, planning fundraising activities, curating inspiring concert programs and promoting the academy at every opportunity. Each step brings us closer to those magical 10 days in August when everything comes together — when artists, students and audiences meet in unforgettable ways. Seeing the festival come to life after months of preparation is incredibly rewarding and reminds us why all the hard work is worthwhile. We can’t wait to share this summer with you! ”

The deadline for Rosamunde Summer Music Academy applications is coming up on April 10!
I spent three formative summers at Rosamunde and I still remember how I grew as a musician during those intensive few weeks. I'm grateful that Rosamunde gave me the opportunity to study with world-class teachers right in my hometown of Winnipeg. The wonderful faculty, the fun and well-organized schedule of chamber music, masterclasses, lessons and more, makes Rosamunde a fantastic place for young aspiring musicians to experience a period of accelerated progress.
Currently, David Liam is based in Basel, Switzerland, where he’s studying at the Basel Academy of Music and doing an internship with the Sinfonieorchester Basel. He is also in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium as a member of the Rilian Trio, studying with Corina Belcea and Miguel da Silva. Previous 1st prize winners at the 12th Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition, they just recently won the 1st Prize at the Illmari Hannikainen Piano Chamber Music Competition. Congratulations Rilian Trio!
David Liam plays on the 1690 Francesco Rugeri cello, on loan from the Canada Council for the Arts Musical Instrument Bank, and a Hill&Sons bow generously loaned by CANIMEX, Inc.

Rosamunde was a formative experience for me as a high school student. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with such encouraging faculty that propelled my decision to study music. Since attending, I have gone on to complete an undergraduate degree at McGill University, Artist Diploma at the Glenn Gould School of Music, and am currently pursuing my masters degree at the University of Toronto. I actually met my current teacher, Erika Raum, at Rosamunde. Little did I know she would be my teacher all these years later!

Rosamunde students, Chloe Strain (violin), and Leanna Wang (cello) will share their musical talents as well.
For your visual senses, come and see an incredible piece of artwork, “Discovery” by Shirley Elias which will be the highlight of our silent-auction. Savor it all in person at our upcoming fundraiser at the historic Ralph Connor House.

Music educators & students! The Young Professionals program is full of educational & performing opportunities.
Newly added to this program is an orchestral excerpt workshop.
Young Professionals applications submitted by February 28 will automatically be considered for scholarships with no financial aid components required.

Liana Nadurak obtained violin performance degrees from both the University of Ottawa (undergraduate) and the University of Michigan (graduate), with a passion for orchestral music. She was a member of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, Adrian Symphony Orchestra, and Lansing Symphony Orchestra for the 2024-25 season. Now a certified Suzuki Method Teacher, she has started her own private violin studio of young violinists. Liana currently plays regularly with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and enjoys playing with her string quartet.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Rosamunde was one of Liana’s first summer music academy experiences. As a young teenager, she gained many valuable friendships, performed in her first string quartet, and sharpened her musical skills thanks to the incredible faculty at Rosamunde. Now, almost 10 years later, she is returning as Camp Coordinator for the second time. Spending August at Rosamunde in the beautiful CMU walls brings back many fond memories!
Sam Nadurak
Sam Nadurak is a cellist, composer and recording artist, graduating with his masters in cello performance from the University of Ottawa in 2022. Since then, he has been playing with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, as well as teaching cello privately and composing and recording music. In 2022, Sam released his debut album, “Wide Eyed, Tongue Tied”, featured on CBC, and he has new projects in the works.
As Sam grew up in Winnipeg, attending Rosamunde for many years was an essential part of his learning and growth as an artist. The opportunity to meet like-minded students and work with a variety of world-class cellists was highly motivating and rewarding. Sam first connected with Paul Marleyn at Rosamunde, which drew Sam to study with him at the University of Ottawa.
And in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, these two are married now! How romantic is that?!
