Artistic Director of the Rosamunde Summer Music Academy and Festival, Saskatoon native Elation Pauls makes a significant contribution to the rich fabric that makes up Winnipeg's musical community.
Having served as Assistant Principal Second Violin with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra since 2009, she is in constant local demand for her lush sound and intense and expressive solo and chamber music performances at such venues as: Music N' Mavens, the Millennium Concert Series, Les Grands Concerts de la Cathédrale, Brandon Chamber Players, Canzona, Virtuosi, Agassiz Festival and the Winnipeg Chamber Music Society, as well as the WSO's New Music Festival, Canadian Mennonite University, and the University of Manitoba. She has collaborated with the likes of Andrew Wan, Paul Marleyn, Louise Williams and Yosuke Kawasaki and is violinist with the newly formed Ensemble Exchange.
A well-traveled musician, she has performed in many of the major concert halls of North America and Europe, including Carnegie Hall (NY), Jordan Hall (Boston), the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Leiszhalle (Hamburg) and at the Philharmonie (Berlin), as well as at such summer festivals as Schleswig-Holstein (Germany), Kent/Blossom (US), Banff and Domaine Forget. Following studies with the great Hungarian pedagogue Lorand Fenyves at the University of Toronto, she obtained the prestigious Solo Performance degree (Konzertexamen) from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Rostock, Germany, where she studied with Petru Munteanu.
