Elise Lavallée

Violist Elise Lavallée was appointed assistant-principal viola of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in 1997 and appears regularly with various organizations in the city including  Groundswell, Music at the Millenium, Camerata Nova and Winnipeg Chamber Music Society and has perfomed recitals at La Chapelle du Bon-Pasteur, La Place Des Arts and Eckhart-Grammate Hall.

Elise received her early musical training as well as her Bachelor of Music from Le Conservatoire de Musique de Québec and later pursued a Master of Music at the Manhattan School of Music and an Artist Diploma at McGill University. In addition to maintaining a private teaching studio and being an instructor at the University of Manitoba and the Rosamunde Summer Music Academy, Elise has held various administrative positions at the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, is a frequent host for the WSO’s French educational programs and Pre-Concert Talks and was a member of the WSO board of directors.

Over the last 15 years Elise has been very active in the French community as a Radio-Canada CKSB freelancer, a host for music appreciation lectures at the University of St-Boniface and a chamber music series music director at the St. Boniface Cathedral and the Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre.
