Born in Winnipeg, Andrea Bell holds Bachelor Degrees in Music and Education from the University of Manitoba where she was a student of Julie Banton. She completed a Master of Music in Cello Performance from the University of British Columbia as a student of Eric Wilson. Andrea is the manager and cellist of the Rembrandt String Quartet, which has performed for CBC Radio and Television and is in demand for concerts, weddings and events in Winnipeg. A passionate music educator, Ms. Bell is the Director of the String Orchestra program at Westgate Mennonite Collegiate and at Grosvenor Elementary School.
She maintains a large and vibrant private cello studio and is the Director of the “Mini-Rosie” program for young children at the Rosamunde Summer Music Academy. Andrea is also the Conductor of the Winnipeg Youth Concert Orchestra, which is a full orchestral ensemble of over 60 young musicians. In June 2016, Andrea was invited by the Australian String Teacher's Association to teach and perform in Perth as a member of the Rembrandt String Trio with violinist Simon MacDonald and violist Daniel Scholz.
